Irvine, CA - Irvine Mayor Pro Tem Chris Mears and Mitch Goldstone,
Community Services Commissioner and Cofounders of The National EPICC Campaign
(Economic Patriotism in Irvine and Coast to Coast), will give away airline
tickets to 10 lucky Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) teachers through a
random drawing on Monday, November 5.
The tickets are being presented in conjunction with The National EPICC
Campaign, an ambitious effort to encourage citizens across the nation to travel
New York City during the Veteran's Day Weekend to support the airlines and
commerce in New York. For complete information about EPICC, visit the
EPICC website at: www.epiccusa.com. The tickets are compliments of Delta
Air Lines as part of their Delta Loves New York campaign. EPICC has
recorded nearly 100,000 hits to its website and registered people in 22 states
who are planning to visit NYC during Veteran's Day Weekend.
All accredited IUSD teachers interested in receiving the tickets must submit
a request to Mayor Pro Tem Chris Mears by 4 pm on Friday, November 2.
Requests can be faxed or e-mailed to: Mayor Pro Tem Chris Mears, Fax:
949-724-6045, e-mail: cmears@ci.irvine.ca.us
According to Mears “Our nation’s teachers play a central role in helping
our children understand tragedy. While there are many more obvious heroes
among our public employees in the aftermath of September 11th, there are few who
are any more deserving of their country's praise and respect than teachers.”
